Toning Shoes are the Popular Choice for for Footwear etc. Customers
People looking to get more out of their shoes have been turning to the various Toning and Health & Wellness shoes in the market. California-based comfort shoe retailer Footwear etc. has been growing its selection of toning shoes that help promote more active lifestyles as well as alleviate foot and back pain. Footwear etc. carries the most cutting-edge designs from all of the popular manufacturers including MBT Shoes, Skechers Shape-Ups, FitFlops, new Balance true Balance and Reebok EasyTone.
Sunnyvale, CA (Vocus) September 30, 2010
Footwear etc. is excited to carry toning shoes from the leading comfort/wellness manufacturers. These toning shoes create natural instability, which in turn can help alleviate back and joint pain. People with foot pain such as Plantar Fasciitis can find great benefit due to the rocker soles that these shoes are known for; this rocking motion helps keep the Achilles tendon and plantar fascia stretched. Toning shoes are rapidly gaining in popularity since they are stylish as well as provide toning and wellness benefits. since toning shoes make you utilize muscles that you donât typically use when you wear regular shoes, customers have found that that they greatly enhance not only their exercise programs, but also everyday wear.
MBT Shoes (Masai Barefoot Technology) were the first company to develop shoes with natural instability to strengthen muscles, improve posture, and alleviate back and joint pain. the patented Masai Sensor in the sole, and integrated balancing area in the midsole, force you to find your core and balance yourself as you use the rolling motion when you walk. Customers have reported a huge relief in foot and back discomfort. MBT has come out with many exciting new styles for the fall, from casual walking shoes to dressy shoes you can wear to work.
Skechers Shape Ups has developed its own technology for creating instability and therefore toning properties. These shoes are superb if you love a cushiony feel for your feet. the kinetic wedge creates resistance to maximize your workout, and absorbs energy to minimize impact. Skechers come in a variety of styles, including sandals, walking shoes, running shoes, and boots.
New Balance has added toning shoes to its collection of athletic footwear. the Rock and Tone shoes provide a very lightweight, rocker bottom that provides spring in your step as you walk. Brand new to the marketplace, the true Balance models contain a balance board technology that provides the natural instability that toning shoes require, yet with the appearance of regular shoes. new Balance shoes have the added benefit of coming in several widths, sure to please everyone.
Fit Flops are a great new addition to the flip flop market, with a twist. rather than having minimal support like many flip flops, Fit Flops contain a patent-pending Micro-wobbleboard midsole technology, which reduces shock and provides the benefits of rocker sole technology in flip flops and sandals. Great for casual wear, Fit Flops are designed to give you a workout as you walk.
Reebok has entered the toning shoe market with two additions: the EasyTone and the RunTone. the EasyTone is specifically designed for walking and everyday activities, while the RunTone is perfect for running and working out. Both models feature pods of moving air, which force your muscles to work harder, and SmoothFit seamless design to eliminate potential irritation points from seams. the Reebok EasyTone and RunTone shoes provide toning benefits without looking like typical toning shoes.
Footwear etc. cautions customers to be sure that they know where their shoes are coming from; there are many web sites that sell knock-off shoes for all of these brands. District Manager Andrew Monarch adds, âItâs always best to purchase shoes from authorized dealers, or else you never truly know what youâre getting.â
These Fall Collections are available now online at footwearetc.com and at their retail store locations in Northern California and San Diego.

KICKS 13: On Sale Now!

Thirteen years in, you should know the deal: KICKS is the sneaker bible.
Getting on the cover of KICKS is much harder than getting on the cover of a SLAM. Frequency is one reason: SLAM now leads KICKS 141-13 in terms of opportunities. The other is that you can’t just be a dope, compelling ballplayer, or just have dope, compelling shoes. you need both. A good shoe “story” (as folks in the industry like to say) helps too.
Well, Brandon Jennings has got all three. you should know the background by now. In sum: turned pro out of high school, signed to under Armour as the brand began its slow entry to the basketball market, played a year in Italy, got hated on by NBA GMs and media in the lead-up to the ‘09 Draft, got taken 10th by the Bucks, dropped 55 points in his seventh NBA game, appeared on the cover of SLAM #135, led the formerly dead deer to a deciding Playoff game and the franchise’s most exciting season in years, finished (an unjust IMO) third in the Rookie of the Year voting and liveblogged this year’s Draft for us. Whew.
So what’s new? The shoes are actually coming out. Much as Brandon is on the verge of turning the potential we’ve seen since he was 15 into being a top-tier NBA PG night in and night out, under Armour is on the verge of bringing their long-awaited product to stores.
A four-shoe line of shoes, including Brandon’s signature “Black Ice” kicks, will be on sale in November. This issue will be on newsstands this week. Besides the lengthy Brandon cover story by yours truly, there is great stuff on all the brands making noise today: adidas, AND 1, APL, Converse, Dada, Fila, Jordan Brand, Li-Ning, Nike, Reebok and more.
In the next couple of weeks, we’ll be posting more photos and videos from the cover shoot, but if you want the full Brandon Jennings/Under Armour story, as well as other great photos and writing and hundreds of hot kicks for the fall, all in one place, buy the issue!
P.S.-Two corrections on behalf of our friends at Foot Locker who helped make this issue possible. The Jordan shoe shown on pg. 82 is obviously the IX, not the XIII. and the highly awaited Nike Foamposites that are advertised on the Foot Locker poster as going on sale September 4 will actually be on sale September 3. I think the rest of the issue, from art to edit to ads, is extremely on point. enjoy!

Aaron Nauls: Hallway Linebacker was a short comedy commercial created by Aaron Nauls, Bowdien Derby and Matt Seidner. The short film feature Aaron Nauls as “Terrible” Aaron Nauls, a High School Football linebacker who “gives out the pain” to those in the hallway who are not obeying hallway policies.
The catch phrases include “The pain train’s comin’”, “Dont cheat!”, “You dont throw paper in a classroom!”, “You flush the toilet when you take the Browns to the Super Bowl!” and “Woo-woo!” after tackling a student, Aaron usually leaves him with a “63! this is my house!”

Fit for Success: Pair Pursues Endurance Sports Clothing Biz
There’s something about the more than 60 million women triathletes around the globe that gives San Diego-based entrepreneurs Brenda Shields and Vivian Sayward reason to believe they are onto something big.
The duo is currently testing the market for Bleu Apparel, a novel clothing line geared toward female sports and exercise enthusiasts, from triathletes to cyclists to runners, golfers, hikers and even those who work out primarily at the gym. the innovation behind their designs, they say, has to do with the fit and fabric of the clothing, which is all locally manufactured.
The clothing line includes Bleu Bike, which provides high-quality, comfortable, well-fitting performance biking jerseys and shorts for women; Bleu Fit, a durable and comfortable line made for everyday exercise, such as yoga and aerobics, that includes the option of smooth compression technology, which is integrated discreetly around the tummy area for women who want additional support; and Bleu Golf, which also includes smooth compression options for pants, capris, shorts and skorts. the Bleu Golf line also adheres to the dress codes of major golf courses throughout the United States.
The Bleu fitness line was first developed in 2004 by Shields, who comes from more than 20 years of experience working in the fitness apparel world, designing clothing for cycling, triathlon and climbing with companies such as Scott Tinley Performance Wear, Reebok and Canari Cycle Wear. From the beginning of Bleu, Shields has focused on providing fitness apparel to women of all ages, with sizes ranging from women’s misses to plus sizes. Since 2004, she has successfully sold her designs under private labeling arrangements and under the Bleu logo for direct merchandising companies. in 2009, she began to expand her vision by designing apparel for golf and cycling.
“We have tried to source functional and easy care fabrics for all of our lines,” Shields said. “One of the key features in the bottoms is the use of compression paneling for support. these pieces are signature items that the line has evolved around, focusing on the over-35 crowd.”
Frustration over Fit
Shields and Sayward have been introducing and testing their product lines over the last year in the market, mainly at race expos. the pair has attended three bike races and plans to preview the Bleu Bike line at a triathlon late this month. They also plan to preview their Bleu Golf line during a PGA show in Orlando, Fla., in January.
So far the responses from races/expos have been extremely positive, Sayward said.
“For example, we started the Bleu Bike line in January and did our first race/expo in March,” she said. “A lot of women who came into our booth were interested in the line and how the jerseys fit. A lot of cycling jerseys have elastic at the bottom which is not comfortable or flattering for most women. our jerseys don’t have the elastic. the cuts are very feminine and geared toward women of all sizes and shapes.”
The market for such female athletes, Sayward said, is greatly underserved.
“There is a market out there but women are just not finding the resources they need. this market needs to expand,” said Sayward, who herself became frustrated over not being able to find comfortable and fashionable golf clothing. “When I started golfing I could not find anything to wear. I’m also a runner and do cycling and triathlons and I’m used to clothes that breathe and work well with movement, but I wasn’t finding anything out there.”
Flexible Fashion
According to a survey from market research firm Golf Datatech, individual women golfers spend about $700 a year on golf equipment and another $500 on golf apparel. Bleu Golf, Sayward said, has a chance to make a hole-in-one in the women golf apparel market. She said Bleu Golf’s first major push will be direct-to-consumer via the Internet.
“More and more people look for things online as opposed to going to an actual retail store,” she said. “We’re trying to make this line accessible to all women.”
The overall goal for Bleu Apparel, Sayward said, is to build a community of women who are active. this means catering to all women, from pro athletes to the weekend warriors to women who want to get back in shape.
“We want to focus first on making sure we’re managing our growth,” said Sayward, who worked in business development and finance in the pharmaceutical and biotech industry for many years. “We don’t want to expand so quickly that we get too overwhelmed.”
According to Tanya Maslach, founder of GOTRIbal, a San Diego-based online and offline community for women who do endurance sports, the market opportunity for Bleu Apparel is enormous.
“For example, although the common triathlon has been around for about 30 years, it has really picked up steam in the last 15 years,” said Maslach.
USA Triathlon, an association with 133,000 members, reports the annual average household income for a triathlete is $126,000. nearly 40 percent of association members are women.
“Apparel providers would do well to pay attention to this new phenomenon,” Maslach said.

How to Spot Authentic NFL Jerseys
Authentic NFL jerseys can be hard to find. That’s because there are tons of imitators and knock offs on the market today. the good news is that it is easy to spot the difference between an authentic NFL jersey and a knock off, before you shell out the cash and it’s too late. Keep these ideas in mind when you’re shopping for an NFL jersey to ensure that you end up with the real thing.
- All authentic NFL jerseys are manufactured by Reebok. That’s the bottom line, any other brand name claiming to have new authentic NFL jerseys is feeding you lies. Reebok has an exclusive license and they’re the only legit source at this point in time.
- Reebook jerseys are not produced in China. sometimes seeing “Made in China” is a scent of authenticity to certain products, because so much of our clothing is manufactured there. however, Reebok does not currently operate any production or manufacturing facilities in China. So keep an eye out for anything claiming to be “Reebok” but saying made in China, because something is amiss.
- Reebook authentic NFL jerseys are produced in three quality and price tiers. the cheapest is the Replica jersey, which features screen printed numbers as opposed to stitched on numbers. the next tier up is the Premier Replica jersey. These will feature stitched on numbers, however the numbers will only consist of one layer of fabric.
The upper echelon of authentic NFL jerseys is the Reebok Authentic NFL Jersey. here, the stitched on numbers will feature multiple layers of different colors. There are other differences between the jerseys besides these differences between the numbers, but this is the easiest way to tell them all apart.
- Finally, you should keep in mind that bargains that seem too good to be true usually are. There are plenty of great deals on NFL jerseys to be found, and you can find plenty of cheap options. however, something that is absurdly priced is probably priced that way for a reason. You won’t find a new authentic NFL jersey for $20. But you may be able to find replica jerseys in that price range. Just use your common sense and try to sniff out things that are just a little bit too good sounding.

Which retail job would you rather have?
I'm considering applying to these retail stores:
(I just added what exactly each sells in case someone wasn't sure.)
Van Heusen/Bass (men's retail)
Claire's (accessories)
Stride Rite (children's shoes)
Children's place (children's clothes)
Carter's & OshKosh (baby stores)
Maurice's (women/teen girl clothes)
Bath & Body Works (smell good lotions, shampoo, etc.)
Reebok (sports shoe store)
Which store, or type of store, would you rather work in, and why? and which ones of these would you NOT want to work at?
thanks!
reebok (u get discount)
i would work at maurice's or claire's to get a good discount.
i would not want to work at bath and body works because it would give me a headache.
do you like kids? you would have a lot of crying by working at carter's or any other kids' stores.
what about working at one of the kiosks in the mall? you don't have a lot of clean up. and when you are not busy you could play on the internet or study. you also get to sit down. if you work at the other stores you have to stand up all day.
good luck

Meet Your Favorite Online Shops at the Online Shopping Town
Online shopping is now part of all our lives. If we need to buy something, we are just as likely to reach for the mouse as the car keys. but our attitudes to shopping online are mixed. Many of us know and trust only a handful of shopping websites, and the quality of sites thrown up in the search engine results is often disappointing. what is more, the process of shopping using search engines is uninspiring. it is a bit like a college research project, where you have to wade through pages of text results to find what you are looking for.
The Online Shopping Town aims to change all that for UK shoppers. Its aim is to marry together the best aspects of internet shopping with the experience you get walking around an attractive real world shopping town or outlet village. the site features shops that are laid out attractively in visual moving streets that you can wander around and explore.
So what does this give you that the search engines do not? Firstly, ideas, the chance to discover fantastic new shops that you might not have found otherwise. all the shops are handpicked by the editorial team, whose ethos is only to include shops they would recommend to their friends. And through the voting and comment system, you can get to see which places are most popular with other shoppers.
Secondly, a fun and informative shopping experience. the shops are visually presented, with images of the kinds of products they sell. And as you navigate along the streets you get to see junctions to related streets, so you have the chance to be inspired and find other things that you did not realize you needed until you saw them!
Thirdly, bargains. the database is regularly updated with current discount codes and voucher codes, which show up as part of the shop information as you walk around the streets.
The creation of the Town is a rolling project. the first quarter to be built featured popular online clothes shops ranging from exclusive fashion boutiques to bargain designer outlets and places to find comfortable casual clothes or practical outdoor wear. there is a home and garden section, featuring shops selling furniture, home accessories, and even online garden centers. And there is a food quarter, where you can find farm shops, wine merchants and delicatessens as well as online supermarkets and places where you can buy prepared meals delivered to your door.
The Town also caters for people planning holidays. the shops in the travel quarter are all online travel agents, or hotel sites, or other websites that are useful for people planning or booking holidays. there are sections for family holidays, luxury holidays, activity holidays and self catering. And within each section you will find streets of specialist sites, including things like safari holidays, boutique hotels, sailing holidays and much else besides.
Perhaps above all, the Town aims to be a first choice destination for people looking for gift ideas. there are so many online gifts ideas and shops available the trick is finding the good ones. the Online Shopping Town brings together streets of shops that are great for each category of gift gifts for children, gift for him, gifts for her, for whole family or any occasions and special events. Significantly, these are not only the shops that market themselves as gift shops. they include the niche shops and boutiques selling things which are genuinely useful, fun or attractive. the sort of gifts that will not end up just sitting around as unwanted clutter.
If you like the idea, drop in and take a look around! Online shopping needs to become easier and more enjoyable, and the Online Shopping Town might just be the answer…
